  13. in response to question three,
I think that we should have an electric guitar solo because it sounded really cool when I listened to it! I also think that we should use as much power as the actual song had.

If Stevie Ray Vaughan were still alive today I believe his music would be a blend of pop, blues and country. I think this because he was born in Texas and in listening to some of his other songs they sound like they already have a hint of country. Part of the mix would be pop because I think he would have changed a little bit over time to adapt to the current peoples wants. and of course hed have the blues in it because thats his thing, its what he does well.

  16. Hope Fallows: 3)What i hear in his performance thats different from when we sing it is that he has a lot of enthusiasm. Thats what we need. We need to act happy when were singing it and have enthusiasm or we are going to sound boring. Thats what we need to include in our performance!

  17. Kayla Gleason:
    1) What are a few of the characteristics that made Stevie Ray Vaughn such a special blues artist?
-He was a mix of country, jazz, rock, and blues artist. His previous abuse of drugs probably affected how he looked on things, and formed him to be the artist he was. Also his family influenced him at a very early stage. He learned to play the guitar at 7 because of his older brother, Jimmie.

2)What is "Blues" music and where did it origionate?
-"Blues" music is a type of music that sounds like a mix of jazz and rock & roll, which usually consists of many flattened or gradually bent notes. It origionated in African-American communities in the south of the US at the end of the 19th century

3)Listen to 'The House is Rockin'. What do you hear in this performance that we should include in our performance?
-Attitude (we're pretty lifeless :D) and some more dynamics. Also, we need to sing out more. It's a rock song, not a slow, soft song, and there needs to be more sound heard. Otherwise, it will pale in a phenomanal Stevie Ray performance.

***Pleeeeeeeeease give me a good grade :D:D:D***

I think blues may even be more popular than it was and he would still be a top selling artist. He is pretty cool

    3. We should include a electric guitar. and use more energy.
    4. his music would rhyme. it would still have the country style. he would have a catchy beat that everyone would dance too.
    2. it originated from New Orleans. Blues is the name given to both a musical form and a music genre created primarily within the African-American communities in the Deep South of the United States at the end of the 19th century from spirituals, work songs, field hollers, shouts and chants, and rhymed simple narrative ballads.
    1. he used jazz and ballads

  20. Peter's new haircut is cool

  21. riley high: In response to question four I think his music would still be the same mostly but changed as time did? like more...modern

  22. 1) a. Amazing guitar player.
    b. He put a lot of emotion into songs.
    c. Had a lot of energy, even in recordings.
    d. Very influential to future blues artists.
    e. Won four Grammys.

    2) Blues music originated in the far south United States during the late 1800s. It was mostly a style sung by African-Americans. Blues is a style of music that incorporates aspects of jazz, R&B, and rock & roll; and focuses on "blue notes" which are notes used for emotion, generally in minor.

    3) We need more of the attitude that Stevie Ray Vaughan has in his version; and we also need more of the urgency he uses as well. And energy, too. And we should scoop more.

    4) I don't think it really would've changed much at all. His style was very distinct and although it may have evolved a bit in terms of relevance to today's pop music (as in, lighter themes), I think most of it would've stayed the same.

  23. IM A UNICORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND I LIKE TO EAT BUTTER!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  24. in response to question four,
I think that it wouldn't be as bluesy and rock and roll-ish because he would most likely become more involved with modern kind of style of music, but at the same time he would be trying to keep his same old sound.

    1) What made Stevie Ray Vaughan such a special blues artist is he studied and played music by ear. Also, Stevie won ten Austin Music Awards. At the age 12, Stevie was playing in garage bands.

2)Blues music came from African-American communities and south of the United Sates. Blues music is characterized by specific chord progressions, of which the twelve-bar blues chord progression is most common. Blues came from jazz, rhythm and blues, and rock and roll.

    3) We should be entergetic like him, and also not hold the notes as long as we nromally do because he singing the song with very short notes.
